It is no secret that I love farm weddings in the heart of Manawatu, the rural setting, the marquee, and just the overall casualness of it all where love and family tend to resonate strongly throughout the day. It was a pleasure to attend and capture the wonderful Manawatu wedding photography of Sabrina and Dene on her family's lifestyle block just outside of Levin, Palmerston North.
The weather was not the best during the week, but it cleared up perfectly for the wedding day. So typical to have 4 seasons in a single day in Palmerston North. The boys and I got straight into with laughter and jokes, essentially at how unsuccessful they were at putting on the day and suit and just getting dressed really. But they did scrub up very well indeed. Sabrina on the other hand was still doing some last minute decoration with the girls, while her dad was busy setting up the bails of hay for the seating arrangement. Last minute jobs are always evident at farm weddings where everyone just chip in to make it a great day.
The wedding ceremony started with a burst of laughter as Sabrina and Dene's prized and much loved dog made its way down the aisle. The wedding was full of beautiful and heartwarming words, with lots of cuddles and congratulations afterwards.
The bridal party photography began at the antique car shed featuring classic Holden Commodores, with the pink car being Sabrina's, a car that she learnt how to drive in. It was the first time that I had the pleasure to sit in and go for a drive in a classic car. I can imagine why people are obsessed with these little beauties. Not the comfiest of rides, but so so special.
For the wedding reception, as I came in to photograph some last minute layout photos, out of the corner of my eyes, Dene's mum was stealing the chocolate out of his box, just for laugh. This basically says it all about these two families and the fun that they share together. Always such a joy to be part of such atmosphere.
