Kim and Simon family farm wedding photography in Taranaki
As a fine art wedding photographer, I am a sucker for farm weddings in New Zealand. The DIY, the rustic feel, and relaxing nature of the friends and families, and of course the stunning rural settings. What more can one ask for wedding photography?
Kim and Simon got married in Taranaki on his family farm, which has been in the family for quite a few generations now. The farm stretched as far as the eye could see, and I just felt a sense of history as I wandered around the ground.
The ceremony was held at a nearby church. It was not big but has just enough space to squeeze everyone in. Certainly, whenever there was a funny part during the ceremony, the church was filled with echoes of laughter. Such an amazing atmosphere.
The bridal photography was mostly carried out at the back of the family farm. Epic rolling hill. During one set of photos with Kim and Simon leaning against the car, we even saw a fly-by with about 10 planes. Just how cool was that? If only the planes flew a lot lower to the ground.
The highlight of the day was definitely the speeches. There were just so many funny and heartfelt words spoken by everyone. As evident by the images below, we had a lot of fun listening to the speeches. Every wedding reception should be like this.
